Around

Montfort is a quiet village and at the same time close to everything interesting to do in the area: the castles, our beautiful little villages, the Dordogne, the markets and many other things....

Château de Montfort - Dordogne, to be admired only from the outside as it cannot be visited

Montfort

Head for the hamlet of Montfort with its beautiful castle, its cobbled streets, the esplanade of the "pierced rock" and its peaceful atmosphere... A true haven of peace.

To descend to the banks of the Dordogne, follow the fishermen's path. But remember to take good shoes!

This small steep path will take you to the fountain and the washhouse, the first water points in the village!

For lovers of beautiful viewpoints, leave the village and follow the cingle de Montfort towards Carsac.

By stopping in the parking area, you have a breathtaking view of the castle, the Turnac walnut grove and the Dordogne river!

The Dordogne

The Dordogne is a French department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region corresponding largely to Périgord, located in the southwestern quarter of France. It owes its name to the river of the same name which crosses it.
